Hello Country Spirit Customers!
I wanted to let you know the reasons we have been getting slower on filling orders. I'm a pretty private person who normally keeps personal life separate from business. It's been easy to do until now. Now my life has made it to where you all need some information. So I shall inform you. As our shop is 100% family run and operated.
In September of this year I thought I pulled a hernia in my abdomen. No big deal as I've had them before and fixed. When I got a CT scan done it showed fluid in my abdomen and my Doctor had a laproscopic surgery done to verify. It turned out that there was no hernia but rather tumors on the outside of all my organs. They began testing and while waiting for the biopsy results the fluid caused my kidneys to shutdown and I entered renal failure. They got them back up and running and the test results came in. I was already in stage 4 metastatic cancer and that fluid was metastatic fluid depositing tumors. I was told by my oncologist in Globe to get to MD Anderson cancer center in Gilbert Arizona immediately as the results came back with AML Leukemia. Which is an extremely aggressive and fast moving cancer.
Fully named what I have is called Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia
That was on September 24th. I started treatment that night and have been undergoing chemo since the 30th. My family has been taking turns staying with me in the hospital. Which has led to some delays as it's a 2hr drive one way from our home and shop in Tonto Basin.
We have finally achieved the upper hand on it and I will be getting released for outpatient treatment in a few days. It will still take a bit for them to catch up because I will not be returning to the shop for at least 6 months. I am setting up an apartment for my wife and I here next to the hospital because I have to be less than 30 minutes away from the center. Due to the speed this cancer moves at if I don't get treatment started when it flares up it can kill in hours.
